My Role model

At the moment my role model is one girl who I know from a roleplay forum. Her nickname is Hris Ka. She is around twenty four, an incredibly artistic person. She studies English phiology in Sofia. It's not exactly her art pieces that inspire me so much. It's the way she expresses herself. There is something stunning in her writing and photography. It touches you and you never forget it. I know that because i met her four years ago and in these past years I hadn't had contact with her until now. I remember everything. Every photo that inspired me, every line of her poetry. She has the unique ability to astound me with every sentence she writes and everything she says is so... perfect.
She is a strong person. I can see it in her eyes, in her writing style, in her radiation. She is creative - I admire so much people with ideas, with so many ideas which flow ceaselessly from them. I don't know why exactly but I love everything about her. I don't know her very well, we are only acquaintances, but I look up to her.

Be the change you want to see in the world

- Gandhi

We are living in a world that is constantly changing. We are dealing with world problems that become more and more serious as years go by. Earth needs people who are willing to contribute to make the world a better place. But that is not going to happen if all of us sit and wait to hear about a new hero. We must become the heroes.

Take my country, Bulgaria, for example. Our nation is used to complaining about the condition of the state. The political problems of Bulgaria are rather serious - our government is selfish and greedy and does nothing for the people. As a result, the population gives up on everything and sits down complaining and cursing instead of going to vote. Every year, fewer and fewer people vote in the elections; they don't realize this is a huge problem. People claim that there is no one to vote for and choose the easy way of not doing anything about it, or worse, run away and go abroad (the easier way) like most young adults.

Nobody is going to clear the mess we alone create. We ourselves are responsible for our fate and are the ones who must stand up against the government, against the world, against ourselves and start doing something. The worst you can do is close your eyes and let all go. I can't find words to describe how selfish and horrible this is.

Its is not only about the government. Do not think it is so hard to make a change. Some changes require little effort and are about different spheres of life. For instance, our planet is dying. Not so slowly but inevitably. However, all I see is people littering the streets and letting the water flow while brushing their teeth. Its is not that hard to make a difference. Mother Teresa said: "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." It is our job, not that of the heroes, but of the ordinary people, to keep the balance. To create the ground for making a huge revolution. For example, it is a small step which will make a big difference if we start smiling to strangers or service workers. It doesn't take much to help an old lady cross the street. It helps a lot if you make an argument to a man who has dropped his rubbish on the street and pick it up for him. Or go and plant your own tree in the closest garden. You don't have an idea how much better the world would be if all of us took the initiative.

You may say such things won't make a difference if only one out of a hundred people made effort. But it is a chain reaction. There is a thought: "Don't wait for inspiration, BE the inspiration." And Steve Jobs told us: "'The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do." He is right. The change will start happening when all of us start to believe they have the power to make the difference. So, next time, think before acting indifferently. Remind yourself that you are the mighty one.

To sum up, stop waiting for the miracles to happen. Become the inspirer, smile to the world , inhale optimism and spread your ideas. Start taking little secure steps to the success in the face of the whole world.
